The California Table

California Cuisine with a Coastal Vibe

I love my new iPad

A huge thank you to my Gonzo husband for giving me an iPad this Christmas! I may never return to my PC.

I even cooked with it yesterday using a Barefoot Contessa recipe for garlic mashed potatoes (which was fabulous, and easy, even if i abandoned the food mill for some good old fashioned elbow grease) from the Food Network instead of my Barefoot in Paris book.

Which makes me wonder, does this mean I could make it an entire year without buying a new cookbook?!

Oh my gosh – love that it can just sit on your counter like that!! I got a new DSLR, so I can’t be too jealous of your Christmas loot 😀

Thank you Barbara! I’m actually attempting my first loaf of bread today, I’ll let you know how it goes.

With all the food blogs and recipes online and on epicurious I bet you could go a while without buying a cookbook

however, I looove books too much to ever do that. I like to read a lot of cook book reviews before I buy one and I am so attached to my collection

Stephanie, I love my cookbooks, too, like you. Do you have a favorite that you always use? I just downloaded the Mark Bittman iPad app and love it.
