France, Gluten-Free
Initially I was worried that I’d find nothing to eat in France, land of baguettes, crepes and croissants. Instead, I discovered fresh salads, hearty steaks, crisp fries and the creamiest risotto I’ve ever had. Not to mention incredibly helpful wait staff who didn’t mind my endless questions about hidden ingredients.
Spain, 1976
I was five years old, headed to Italy, Spain and Morocco with my mom and her friends for a month over the summer. I still have so many memories of that trip, but like the photos, the memories become tinged with age. But in a good way.
