I’ve always wanted a big sister, and now I have one, in the form of my new bloggy bestie, Lisa at Jersey Girl Cooks! Lisa and I met through the Adopt a Blogger program developed by Kristenover at Dine & Dish as a way to connect bloggers, newbies like me with a gal who’s got some experience under her belt.
My new mentor is fabulous! She started her site in 2008, and she definitely knows what she’s doing. Her passion for cooking existed way before that; she’s been entering recipe contests for years and met fellow foodies that way. Starting a blog was the logical next step.
What I love about Lisa’s site is her willingness to experiment (something I can totally relate to). She also has a picky eater in the form of her son and (shhh!) also sneaks veggies into treats. Like me, Lisa loves food-related adventures, only she’s smart enough to get her kids involved (note to self).
And for my last “me, too!” moment, the biggest, most telling reason why we are obviously meant to know each other? She loves the Barefoot Contessa! Not only that, but she’s one of the Barefoot Bloggers. A match made in heaven!
This woman is seriously creative in the kitchen. Instead of tossing away her children’s Halloween candy, she made cookies. Cookies! I can’t even bake those cookies with that fat little dough guy on them. (I’m hoping Lisa can help me with this.)
So head over to Lisa’s site, Jersey Girl Cooks, to get new ideas for your culinary adventures, whip up something tasty that your kids will love, or because this home chef is seriously committed to desserts. How fabulous is that?
