Welcome to Whisk & Cleaver, your source for gluten-free California cuisine. When I started The Gonzo Gourmet in 2010, I was a no-nonsense home cook who knew next to nothing about the kitchen. Today, thanks to this blog and to readers like you, who sent in tips, recipes and your own personal kitchen stories, I know my béarnaise from my béchamel.
But, at heart, I’m still a get-it-on-the table kind of gal, and now, I’m a gluten-free gal as well. I’m re-launching this blog to focus on gluten-free food with a twist: fresh, easy, modern recipes that celebrate the mix of cultures and cuisines which make the California lifestyle so unique.
As a California native, I’ve eaten seasonally my entire life. The foods I grew up on – savory grilled meats and vegetables, sweet fruits and tangy homemade ice cream for dessert, plus the occasional snack-bar treat now and then – are the foods I eat now. And those are the foods I want to share with you.
